AU Crew Job Descriptions
River Guides
Our river guides provide unique and exciting trips to our guests by leading them down the Ocoee River while keeping them entertained and informed! Pay is based on experience. No experience, no problem! We provide FREE river guide training!
- Must be 18 years of age.
- Friendly and adventurous.
- Professional and hard working.
- Because guiding rafts is physically demanding, applicants should be in relatively good physical shape.
- Because Adventures Unlimited is a seasonal business, employees are expected to work weekends throughout the summer.
- First aid and CPR certifications are required.
- Providing excellent customer service on and off the water.
- Maintaining the importance of safety at all times.
- Greeting guests and familiarizing them with equipment, ensuring proper fit of helmets, and PFDs.
- Giving safety and paddling instructions to guests, encouraging and coaching guests.
- Providing meaningful historical and relative information for the Ocoee River and area.
- Loading and unloading boats, putting away, sanitizing, and cleaning equipment.
- Working as a team.
- Assisting around the outpost.
- Our FREE guide training program* begins the first week of April and occurs on Saturdays and Sundays.
- Applicants will be taught the dynamics of whitewater, including how to read features and how to identify and avoid potential hazards.
- Trainees will learn how to provide excellent customer service, as well as how to respond and work through issues and emergencies that might arise.
- Trainees will be required to complete first aid and CPR classes and will be instructed on river rescue techniques and the importance of safety on the river.
*The necessary equipment will be provided throughout training, and we will assist with a pro deal for equipment purchase upon completion of the program.
Reservation Crew/Retail Team
Our reservation and retail team is the first voice our guests hear when they call and the last face they see before heading home from their adventure. Outstanding communication and customer service skills are mandatory for this position.

- Use our online platform to create customer profiles and reservations and make proper notes on each booking.
- Cleaning around the outfitter store and property.
- Money handling skills, counting correct change, and counting down drawers, at the end of the shift.
- Guests love our merchandise, and our retail team keeps the shelves stocked and organized.
- Checking in guests before the trip.
- Answering guests’ questions in person and on the telephone.
Part-time, full-time, and seasonal positions are available.
Photography Crew
The AU Photography Crew catches the faces of excitement on the river, and provides lasting memories for our guests to take home.
- Must be at least 18 years of age and have a valid driver’s license and transportation.
- You will be working out in the elements and will need to be able to get to the river’s edge to capture the photos.
- Some photo spots are easily accessible, while others require rock hopping and climbing up and down the riverbanks.
- Time management is crucial in this position so that you promptly make it to each photo location.
- Knowing our area is a plus, as many guests are looking for a bite to eat or a fantastic spot to visit after leaving.
- Outstanding communication and customer skills.
- Must be a team player yet be able to work alone.
- Video production skills are helpful.
- Driving back and forth to the river to take photos.
- You will be trained to sort and upload photos onto our photo platform after each trip.
- Selling the photos and packages to our guests upon their return to AU.
- Helping our retail team sell merchandise from our outfitter store.
Cameras and equipment are provided to each photographer to use during the job.
Must be available on weekends. Days off are generally Tuesday and Wednesday. Part-time hours are available; from Memorial Day to Labor Day, 30-40 hours are available.
Housekeeping
- 18 years of age or older.
- Attention to detail.
- Time management is a must to get each area clean to the AU Standard.
- Transportation to and from work is required.
- Must lift and carry up to 25 pounds and climb steps.
- Cleaning our rental cabins and readying them for rental on a regular basis.
- Cleaning our bathhouse area daily, with a deep cleaning once a week.
- Housekeeping is also responsible for keeping the laundry room well organized and stocked.
Food Service
Caterings, breakfast, lunch, and dinner, plus nightlife! We serve it all with a smile and an adventurous attitude. Guests can walk up for a hot biscuit at the AU Café or stroll over to the Bus Bar and Grill for an afternoon bite and a taste of nightlife.
The AU CAFÉ
Open on weekends from mid-May through mid-September.
- Must be 16 years of age and must be available to work weekends.
- General hours are 7:00 AM until Noon.
- Outstanding communication and customer service skills are required.
- Must be a team player.
- Employees of the café will prep breakfast and sell/serve it to our guests.
- Duties include prep work, cooking, serving, cleaning the café, and handling money.
- The AU Café team also plays a massive role in our catering department by setting up, serving, and breaking down on-site catering.
- Cleaning of the outdoor seating areas and restocking restrooms are expected at the end of every shift.
The Bus Bar and Grill
Open Fridays – Sundays in the off season and open Thursdays – Sundays during our peak season. We are seeking both back-of-house and front-of-house employees.
- Very competitive pay based on experience and certifications.
- Serv-Safe certification is a plus.
- Must work weekends.
- Must be 18 years of age or older.
- The back-of-house Grill Crew is responsible for prep, cooking, cleaning, and plating food.
- Be prepared to check the temp on every food item sent out from our kitchen.
- Our servers are paid hourly and work on a tip share.
- Servers must be 18 years or older.
- Bartenders must be 21 years or older to serve alcohol.
- TABC card required.
- Serv-Safe certification is a plus.
- Bartending skills are a plus.
- Cleaning per shift with a deep clean item once or twice per week.
Yard/Maintenance Crew
Adventures Unlimited encompasses nearly 30 acres. We like the property to be in tip-top shape at all times!
- Must be at least 18 years of age.
- This job is generally performed Monday – Friday.
- Must be a team player.
- Must have reliable transportation.
- Care must be taken when working around campsites, tents, vehicles, campers, and RVs.
- Cutting the grass, weed eating, pulling weeds, picking up sticks, and keeping all campsites clean and tidy.
- Push mowing in several spaces, but mainly using a zero-turn lawn tractor in the open spaces.
- Using a gas trimmer around trees, beds, and parking areas.
- Burning brush and debris from fallen limbs and obtaining burning permits when needed.
- Maintenance handling skills required (mowers, tractors, saws, trimmers, etc.).
Bus Drivers
One of the most critical jobs at Adventures Unlimited is getting our guests to and from the river!
- Must have a Class B CDL with passenger and air brake endorsements.
- Must have a current health card.
- You must understand that our operation works on a schedule.
- Must be a team player.
- Must have reliable transportation to and from work.
- Must adhere to traffic laws and regulations.
- Maintain and inspect the vehicles.
- Maintain a clean and organized vehicle.
- Use safe driving practices.
